Blown film lines: Modules

The basis for the global success of Reifenhäuser blown film lines is a mature, modular concept, which provides a high degree of flexibility and economy. Individual modules, such as extrusion, forming and cooling, sizing and haul-off modules, winders, automation and additional units can be combined to create endless new line variations, for flexible manufacturing of a wide range of different products.
1 Extruder, Reitorque
Thanks to the compact design of extruders with Reitorque technology, they are especially suitable for multi-layer blown film lines. They are equipped with gearless drive technology. These extruder series are characterised by:
- 30 % reduction in required space
- Torques of 300 to 11,000 Nm at the usual extrusion speeds
- Low maintenance requirements and high machine operability
- Minimised noise (values below 78 dBA)
- Simple screw change, to the front or back of the extruder
2 Film blowing die-head with air cooling ring
The newly developed blown film die-heads made by Reifenhäuser cater for all needs in the realm of 1 - 7 layer films. Die-heads with diameters between 150 - 2200 mm are available.
Spiral mandrel die-heads are used for the extrusion of 1 to 5 layer films. Stack dies are used for 5 - 7 layer barrier films and offer excellent film tolerances, quick product changeover times during production, and a broad range of applications for barrier films in the 25 - 300 µm range.
Stationary die-heads are primarily used nowadays, but reversible and rotating film blowing die-heads are available for special applications.
3 Sizing unit
By developing own sizing baskets for blown film extrusion, Reifenhäuser has created an important basis for achieving perfect film quality (prevention of basket marks and scratches), with a very robust and stable system. The design of the sizing basket is determined by the customer-specific application.

Reifenhäuser has the optimal solution for crease-free collapsing for all film applications. The guiding surface for the various film products is selected from various collapsing angles and lengths.

In Reifenhäuser designs, the haul-off unit (nip rolls) is always driven by servomotors.
6 Reversing
The REIcofly® reversing bar system enables contactless guiding of high-quality adhesive film. The microporous rolls are supplied with a low volume of compressed air - instead of being equipped with a complicated blower. The stable design of the reversing bar system prevents the rolls from tipping and ensures creaseless randomizing of the film.
7 Winder
Reifenhäuser also offers its own winder series, for the perfect line. Engineering follows a modular design and provides all possible equipment variations for all product- and customer-specific solutions.
Regardless of whether a winder is used as a single or tandem winder, your product is guaranteed optimal quality. These winders enable all winding methods (contact, contact with central drive, gap with central drive).
8 Automation
